Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

OSI-Sri Lanka (Wattegama)

20 April 2007

Our Day

Our children left Wattegama by bus in the morning, eating a special breakfast on the way, and otherwise singing non-stop.  After the two-hour ride to Pinnewala, the children wandered the facility and watched the elephants bathe.  In the afternoon, they piled back on the bus to Wattegama, stopping half-way at the beautiful grounds of Peradeniya University where they enjoyed a special lunch and a walk around the campus.
Thanks to Mr. Rusi Captain, our dear friend right here in Sri Lanka, for providing this special day for us, one of the many joys he has given to us!
